The namesake for Kirk ES passed away Feb. 11 at the age of 84. Shirley Kirk is survived by her husband James; sons Evan and James and their spouses; and four grandchildren. She was a teacher for more than 37 years, 28 of which were spent in CFISD. Following her retirement in 1984, Shirley and her husband continued to actively volunteer throughout the district.
