McFee Elementary Rockets Reading Time Out

McFee students comfortably listen to Sierra Holmes reading a story during their Read Nation event.

Forty-six McFee ES students were surprised with a Houston Rockets Read Nation Reading Time Out on Thursday, Nov. 19. 

McFee ES students actively participate during Read Nation.

The McFee ES library was transformed into a reading paradise with rugs and comfy bean bag chairs. The students were given a Read Nation shirts and listened to a story read aloud by Rockets power dancer Sierra Holmes. Students played games to earn great Rockets prizes. When students left they were given a Rockets bag and could choose four books for their personal libraries. 

The students that were selected were among the top readers in our third-, fourth- and fifth-grade classes. At the conclusion of the event students were invited to attend an upcoming Rockets home game.
