Open campus transfer requests for 2021-2022

Open Campus Transfer Requests for the 2021-22 school year are currently being considered for the following campuses:

Forms are available online at www.cfisd.net and at each campus. Completed transfer requests with the requested proof of residency may be submitted to studenttransfers@cfisd.net or delivered to your child’s current campus registrar. Requests will be accepted from May 11-June 1, 2021. For questions or assistance, please contact Student Services by phone at (281) 517-6342. In Memory of Clay Smith

In Memory of Relvart "Clay" Smith

June 1, 1957 - May 6, 2021

Cypress Springs HS assistant principal Relvart "Clay" Smith passed away on May 6. 

Mr. Smith came to CFISD in 1983 as a health teacher and coach at Jersey Village HS, where he was named an assistant principal in 1992. He transferred to Cypress Springs HS as an AP prior to the 2001-2002 school year. Prior to his 38 years with CFISD, Mr. Smith taught three years in McGregor ISD. 

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 14 at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road), beginning with a viewing from 4-6 p.m. and concluding with a service from 6-8 p.m.

In Memory of Maj. Wanda Ewing

Jan. 3, 1958 - May 4, 2021

Cypress Woods High School Air Force JROTC instructor, Major Wanda Ewing, passed away on May 4, 2021. Major Ewing served 18 years in the U.S. Air Force prior to her career in public education. She began her teaching career as a special education teacher in 1997. Then in 1999, she started her career as a Senior Aerospace Science Instructor in Massachusetts. For the past 21 years, she has faithfully served the AFJROTC Cadets at Cypress Springs, Cypress Ranch and Cypress Woods high schools.

The Celebration of Life for Major Wanda Ewing will be held Saturday, May 15 at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road). Visitation will be at 10 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at noon.

Inurnment with military honors will be held at The Houston National Cemetery at a date and time to be announced.
