Dianna Christensen, a special education in-class support/resource teacher at Hancock Elementary, passed away on Oct. 14 with her family in Avon, Ind. She was 59.

Dianna was born Nov. 21,1961 in New York City to Helene and Alfred Curley. She was proud of her Irish heritage, and her “New Yorker” home in New Jersey.

In her youth, she had many interests. She was an artist while in high school and later joined a rowing team while living in California. She always had a passion for helping those in need and devoted her life to others as an elementary and special education teacher. Dianna came to CFISD in August 2021.

Other than her religion, her greatest passion was children, she instilled her vigor for learning in her six children, teaching them all to read fluently before grade school, and encouraging them to all attend college.

Proceeding her in death are her parents Alfred Curley, Helene Rizzo, her first husband, Thane Turner, as well as her sister, Janet Curley, who passed a month previous. Dianna is survived by her husband Barry T. Christensen, her six children, Nick, Brad, Noelle, Laura, Branden, and Brein, and her sister Jean Curley.
