Michael Tate, retired CFISD repair center worker, passed away April 28, 2016. Tate began working with CFISD in 1997 and retired in December 2012. His wife, Karen Tate, worked at Bane ES through June 2012.

LaVelle Shelton, longtime counselor and director in CFISD as well as wife of former Cypress Creek High School principal, Joe Shelton, passed away May 2. Prior to her work with CFISD, Shelton worked for HISD for 12 years. Shelton totaled 43 years in education at her retirement in 2005.
A visitation for Shelton will be held on Monday, May 9, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Home:
