Andre’ 10-Year Celebration: Celebrating a decade of excellence

On the last day of Andre' Elementary School's 10-day 10-year anniversary celebration, all students and staff gathered outside for a panoramic photos to showcase their colorful, celebratory shirts.

Andre’ ES students and staff celebrated its 10-year anniversary for 10 days, each day recognizing a decade of excellence. Each day, students and staff celebrated by wearing a color that represented each year, beginning with black and gold to celebrate its first year and ending with every grade wearing a different color to celebrate the decade landmark. In addition, each day students read accomplishments made by students and staff on the announcements.

Students and staff enjoyed perusing class photos dating back to 2006 that were displayed in the main hallways, along with the completed Andre’ ES Wall of Fame.

On April 6, former original staff members, principals from feeder middle schools and Cypress Springs HS, and Board members Bob Covey and Tom Jackson attended a morning celebration to honor original staff still serving at Andre’ ES. All 19 decade-long original Leopards were recognized and presented with a gift. Commemorating the day, school administration unveiled an anniversary quilt made each year's school spirit shirt, lovingly created by Andre' ES nurse Melissa Lassetter.

After the morning program, former staff members were invited to be guest readers in all classrooms. On the last day of the celebration, students celebrated with cookies from food service during lunch and a schoolwide color splash photo on the soccer field.
