Students and staff members from McFee Elementary School had to
opportunity to attend the University of Houston homecoming football game.
Students toured the campus, participated in tailgate activities, cheered on the Cougars to victory over the East Carolina University pirates. Sponsors included Be A Champion, Inc. and Little Coogs, who provided
the tickets to the football game free of charge, and A-Plus Mechanical, who
generously provided a financial donation for transportation.
"This is the sixth annual field trip for McFee Elementary School students to visit the University of Houston," Melissa Eubanks, McFee ES reading intervention teacher said. "As a member of No Excuses
University, McFee teachers believe that all students have the right to be
educated in a way that prepares them for college."
McFee teachers represent
different colleges in their classrooms and teach their students about that college. Each year, the
field trip to the University of Houston gives students a chance to see
what a college campus looks like and to participate like a college student at
the football game.
