School namesake, Julia Kahla, passed Tuesday, Nov. 14. Affectionately known as Judy, Mrs. Kahla spent 32 of her 43 years in education working in CFISD. She served as an English teacher at Cy-Fair and Jersey Village high schools, and also as a director of instruction at Arnold Middle School and an associate principal for Cypress Creek High School. Mrs. Kahla was promoted to assistant superintendent for staff development and retired in June 2003. In 2005, she was chosen to be the namesake of Kahla Middle School.
