Cypress Creek HS senior Kettesie Simon, third from left, celebrates winning a $750 FRED scholarship with (L-R) teacher Andrea Barnes, Associate Principal Amby Clinkscale and Principal Vicki Snokhous. |
The Cypress Creek HS FRED Ambassadors Club "spreads the FRED" every day by encouraging students and staff to be their very best and to go above & beyond. The club sells t-shirts to teachers at the beginning of each school year and 100 percent of the money goes toward rewarding staff and students for being FREDS!
This year, the FRED Ambassadors awarded a $750 scholarship to a deserving college-bound senior, made possible by the generosity of Cy Creek teachers.
This year's winner of the $750 scholarship is Kettesie Simon. Kettesie came to the United States two years ago from unfavorable conditions in Haiti. She didn't even speak English at the time. She works and offers support to her family here as well as to those left behind in Haiti. She helps other students in class and she is kind to teachers and staff. Best of all, she not only speaks three languages now; she is driven and goal-oriented and will start college at Lone Star in the fall!
