Lauren Berkshire’s homeroom class at Owens ES raised the most money in the school—more than $400 for the Pasta for Pennies fundraiser to fight children’s leukemia. |
The Owens ES student council hosted a three-week “Pasta for Pennies”
drive in February and March to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS),
and students rose to the challenge in a big way.
Homeroom classrooms competed to bring in $6,400 for the
organization. The LLS will spotlight Owens in an upcoming newsletter as being
one of the biggest school fundraisers of the year.
Lauren Berkshire’s fifth-grade homeroom class was the top
fundraiser, with more than $400 in donations as a class. Ms. Berkshire’s class
won a pasta party from Olive Garden that they will enjoy on field day.
