Ault ES celebrates 25 years

Former and current staff members came together for Ault Elementary School's 25th anniversary celebration on March 29. 

A meet-and-greet reception in the library concluded with the opening of the Ault time capsule, which was made by All-Star students in the year 2000. 

Following the reception, Ault namesake Norma Ault rang in the school's annual "Spring Fling" Carnival event by cutting a ribbon at the front of the school to commemorate the 25th anniversary. 

"Ault is a school with such a rich history and a vast number of successes over the past 25 years," said Jeff LaCoke, Ault principal. "We had so much fun celebrating with our community during our 25^th Anniversary and Spring Fling Carnival. The support from the community was overwhelming. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the past and future successes at this amazing school. We look forward to another 25 years of excellence!"

Nate Gordon retires after 38 years

Former athletes of Nate Gordon surround their former coach at his retirement celebration on Aug. 26 at the Berry Center.

Associate director of athletics Nate Gordon retired effective Aug. 31 after 38 years of service, all in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

Gordon served as a teacher, coach and administrator at Bleyl MS, Langham Creek HS and Cypress Creek HS before closing out his career as associate director of athletics.

Friends, family co-workers and colleagues of Gordon’s gathered for a retirement celebration at the Berry Center on Aug. 26. Several former athletes spoke at the event, sharing funny and inspirational stories while thanking Gordon for his guidance in their lives.

'Gina Guidry Day' at Sheridan

Sheridan ES Principal Gina Guidry, joined by Trustee Bob Covey, displays her new Principal of the Year shirt during “Gina Guidry Day” on May 29.

Sheridan ES students and staff celebrated “Gina Guidry Day” on May 29 to honor Principal Gina Guidry, who was named CFISD’s honoree for Region IV Elementary Principal of the Year in 2014-2015.

The staff, as well as Board of Trustees member Bob Covey, surprised Guidry in front of the school building in the morning with a Principal of the Year shirt.

Following the morning announcements, students held a parade throughout the school and out onto the blacktop at the rear of the campus, where the entire school took a picture with their principal.

Sheridan ES staff members surprised Principal Gina Guidry in front of the school building on May 29, “Gina Guidry Day.”

All students and staff took a group photo on the blacktop behind the school to honor 2014-2015 Region IV Elementary Principal of the Year for CFISD, Gina Guidry.
