Mid-Year Insurance Reminders

The Insurance Department would like to remind you of a few items that may help your family be properly insured.

• Birth of Babies – When you or your spouse have a life event due to the birth or adoption of your baby, it is imperative that you add your baby within 31 days of birth. If you fail to add your baby here at CFISD through the benefit system, you will have to wait until open enrollment in the summer to add your baby for coverage effective September 1, 2019.

• If you need to file a disability claim, keep in mind you DO NOT have to use all of your vacation, sick, or personal days here at CFISD first. All claims are filed through Assurant Disability.

• Please log into the benefit system and update your dependent’s social security number. The social security number is an important piece of the 1095-C forms with the Affordable Care Act. We want to ensure that your form is accurate.
