Twenty-nine CFISD elementary schools benefited from the 8,000-plus school supply kits that were donated from Kroger’s Backpack Boosters school supply drive over the summer.

The school supply kits were donated to Bane, Emery, M. Robinson and other CFISD campuses last week so students could benefit from the community’s generosity.

Principal Michelle Merricks holds a "thank you" sign for Kroger as students hold the school supply kits they were given as part of a Backpack Boosters school supply drive this summer.

M. Robinson ES counselor clerk Christina Clerk wades through the many school supplies given to the school through Kroger's Backpack Boosters school supply drive.

Cy Lakes HS pillowcases for pediatric cancer patients

Pillowcases created by Cypress Lakes HS students in the Advanced Fashion II and III classes are being temporarily displayed at the school before being delivered to Texas Children’s Hospital toward the end of September.

Cypress Lakes HS students in the Advanced Fashion II and III classes created beautiful pillowcases and raised money to purchase the pillow inserts for pediatric cancer patients to have as a comfort item during their treatments.

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, the students are donating the pillows to the Katy branch of Texas Children’s Hospital. The pillowcases will be briefly displayed in the Cypress Lakes hallway display case before being delivered to Texas Children’s near the end of September.
