Ault ES celebrates 25 years

Former and current staff members came together for Ault Elementary School's 25th anniversary celebration on March 29. 

A meet-and-greet reception in the library concluded with the opening of the Ault time capsule, which was made by All-Star students in the year 2000. 

Following the reception, Ault namesake Norma Ault rang in the school's annual "Spring Fling" Carnival event by cutting a ribbon at the front of the school to commemorate the 25th anniversary. 

"Ault is a school with such a rich history and a vast number of successes over the past 25 years," said Jeff LaCoke, Ault principal. "We had so much fun celebrating with our community during our 25^th Anniversary and Spring Fling Carnival. The support from the community was overwhelming. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the past and future successes at this amazing school. We look forward to another 25 years of excellence!"

Swenke ES celebrates 10 years

In 2009, Swenke ES opened its doors to more than 700 students. Former and current staff members gathered on Jan. 25, 2019, to celebrate the school’s 10-year anniversary.

The event featured a slideshow from the past decade, as well as yearbooks and memory books from all 10 years. 

School namesake Deanna Swenke and her husband, Jim, were in attendance, as well as the campus's original principal, Donna Sheppard. 

'Me in '23' gives Labay students 5-year outlook

Labay MS eighth-grade students participated in a project called "Me in '23" that allows them to forecast their future success five years down the road. Cypress Falls HS let their feeder campus borrow caps, gowns and diploma covers to take photos of the students as future graduates.

The photos were displayed throughout Labay's main hallway, and the students completed the sentence "After graduation, I plan to..." beneath their images.

"The students are so proud and it looks amazing!" said Lanette Bellamy, Labay MS principal. 

Schools receive school supply kits from Kroger

Twenty-nine CFISD elementary schools benefited from the 8,000-plus school supply kits that were donated from Kroger’s Backpack Boosters school supply drive over the summer.

The school supply kits were donated to Bane, Emery, M. Robinson and other CFISD campuses last week so students could benefit from the community’s generosity.

Caterpillar donates to Holbrook ES

Holbrook ES Adopt-a-School partner Caterpillar Oil & Gas donated many supplies to the school to help students start their year off on a positive note.

Caterpillar project manager Nicole Wafford arrived at the campus with backpacks, cases of tissues, glue sticks, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes and composition books to support the students.
