Second Annual CFISD Health Expo -- Oct. 10

The community programs department, in partnership with the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, will host the Second Annual CFISD Health Expo on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The community event encourages health and wellness while benefiting the Health Organization of Physical Educators (HOPE).

Promoting "Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies and Healthy Habits," the event has something for the entire family! The Expo will feature a blood mobile, student performances, vendor booths, exhibits, demos, screenings, flu shots and much more!

Children are invited to walk the concourse with CFISD P.E. teachers, and live superheroes will make appearances at various times. Prizes, give-a-ways and samples will be given away throughout the event.

HOPE Scholarships

Cy-Fair HS graduating senior Brandon Anselmi, pictured with father Kurt Anselmi of Black ES, was one of five H.O.P.E. Scholarship recipients.

The Cypress-Fairbanks Health Organization of Physical Educators (H.O.P.E.) scholarships are awarded to selected, qualifying CFISD graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue an education degree to become a teacher of health, physical education, recreation or dance.
H.O.P.E. members work with the community programs department to sponsor an annual Health Expo to raise funds for H.O.P.E. scholarships.
This year, Alexis Longmire and Brandon Anselmi of Cy-Fair HS, Kaitlyn Jones and Nayeli Novoa of Cypress Falls HS and Nicole Miller of Cypress Ranch HS were each awarded H.O.P.E. scholarships in the amount of $2,000.
